What is Host Fest?
- Host Fest is the gathering of hotels, glampings, property managers and short-term rental (STR) investors across Latin America. The 6th edition takes place on 14–15 April 2027 in Samborondón, Ecuador, in Spanish and English, and it also runs the Hostfest Awards.
When and where is Host Fest 2027?
- On 14–15 April 2027, in Samborondón, Guayas province, Ecuador. It is the sixth edition; previous ones were held in Quito (2022), Guayaquil (2023), Cuenca (2024), Manta (2025) and Quito (2026).
What are the Hostfest Awards?
- Annual awards with 15 categories recognising the best in lodging and tourism: hotels, glampings, vacation homes, beach houses, property managers, short-term rental projects, hosts, travel agencies, public tourism campaigns and content creators. They include an international category open to lodging anywhere outside Ecuador.
How much does it cost to apply to the Hostfest Awards?
- Applying is free. You complete one form with your contact details, up to 3 photos and an optional promo video. Applicants receive a tracking code for their entry.
Who can vote and how many times?
- Anyone with a valid email address and phone number. It is one vote per person per category, at no cost. Applicants cannot vote for their own entry.
How are the Hostfest Award winners chosen?
- From two inputs: the public vote and the assessment of an independent jury using a public five-criteria rubric with weights fixed before judging starts. The public vote counts, but it does not decide on its own. Before judging, every entry passes eight eligibility checks.
Are the vote results public?
- No. Vote counts are visible only to the organising team. Neither applicants nor voters can see the ranking. Winners are announced at the Host Fest gala.
Is the international category open to any country?
- Yes. Best International Vacation Lodging is open to villas, homes and vacation apartments in any part of the world outside Ecuador, judged with its own rubric.
How can I sponsor Host Fest 2027?
- There are four sponsorship plans: Entrepreneur (USD 600), Silver (USD 2,800), VIP (USD 5,000) and Partner (USD 10,000). Each includes different levels of visibility, stand space, passes and VIP event invitations. You request a plan through the sponsorship form on the site.
How do I apply to be a juror?
- By submitting a form with your professional profile, role, organisation, years of experience (minimum 5) and the categories you can assess. You must declare no conflict of interest: jurors cannot compete in the categories they assess.
What languages is the event held in?
- Spanish and English. The website also has a full English version for an international audience.
What makes Host Fest different from other industry events?
- Host Fest combines three things: a technical approach with a published rubric and verifiable evidence, international reach with professionals from nine countries, and a community that stays active all year through the Hostfest Awards. It is not just a networking event: it is an education and recognition programme.
